Sorrenti for Pirelli

He was the lucky guy behind the lens of the just-released Pirelli 2012 calendar, which means he got to get up close and personal with very, VERY, beautiful (oh! and very , VERY , naked women)- Kate Moss, Lara Stone, Natasha Poly, Isabeli Fontana, Milla Jovovich among them. The pirelli gig is reflective of the fact  that the italian-born, New York-raised photographer is rigth up there at the top of the game, and as you can see here, he rolls with AWESOME Testino and GENIOUS Terry.

You can google the Pirelli Calendar , but this is my favorite shot of it. The light is great and Jovovich, well, she´s almost a godess.

Born in 1971, creativity ran in the Sorrenti family with younger brother Davide also being a fashion photographer (who passed away in 1997 from a heroin overdose). Sorrenti and Moss dated in the 90’s, and aside from this he has managed to maintain a private public persona. Up there with the Conde Naste creme de la creme, Sorrenti is prolific, and a favourite of Vogue Italia and Paris in particular, as well as other leading titles including WV and Purple. In addition to this, he has shot an extensive amount of advertising campaigns for the likes of Kenzo, Chloe, Bally and many more, as well as album covers (such as Shakira’s Oral Fixation) and videos (John Mayer’s ‘Daughters’). What’s more, he has a published book – The Machine – and has been exhibited at London’s V&A museum, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and galleries in Paris and Monaco.

Here, some of my personal favourite Sorrenti shots:
